Adding to this discussion, when I took my T4R in for the gas pedal recall I noticed it took a while for the service rep to check me in. Turns out he was reading the service history, most of which I had entered on the Toyota Owner's website as I was doing all routine maintenance myself. He was trying to find services he could sell me. You know the drill: "Sir, it appears your vehicle is due for front and rear differential fluid change," or "Sir, looks like it's time for an oil change and tire rotation," or "Sir, your T4R is due for new spark plugs."
He ended up making no recommendations and instead just wrote up the recall and a free wash. Along the way, someone there swiped the official Toyota rubber cover from my hitch receiver!
