Signs of Spring

This past Wednesday the temperature here in Eastern Pennsylvania actually got up into the low 60s.
Not one to pass up a good weather opportunity I decided it was time to mount my spring/summer/fall tires and put the snow tires away for the year.
The whole procedure took me about two hours. That time included washing both sets of tires and time spent on checking out brake pad thickness and undercarriage rust.

Brake pads and tires look fine. Unfortunately, it looks as if I will have to make some time once the weather gets warmer to treat more of my undercarriage with POR15.
The places I treated last year seem to be holding up well but the other areas that were not rusted last year are rusting now.
Granted my 4Runner is pushing 4 years old now, but I do have to wonder about the level of rusting versus the age of the vehicle.

Hopefully, the weather will warm up again in the next 2-3 weeks as my 4Runner could really use a good hand wash and wax.

Eastern Pennsylvania in June tends to be hazy, hot (80-90+ temps) and humid (85-95%+) for the most part with thunderstorms.
Sunny weather with low humidity and temps in the low-mid 80s has also been known to happen but not usually as often as the hazy/hot/humid weather.
Your son and his wife to be had better keep that kind of weather in mind when planning the ceremony and reception.
Any outdoor plans should have an air conditioned, indoor location as a fall-back option just in case.

At that time of year weather is VERY unpredictable in this area.
Summer thunderstorms can also play havoc with airline flight schedules into/out of east coast airports.
Anyone using the airlines for the wedding should keep that in mind as well.

I just rotated the tires and changed the oil on a 1 yr old vehicle and was surprised at all the rust. Stupid Magnesium Chloride!
