silicone gasket maker to seal tail lights

Can I use the gasket maker I used for the deck plate mod for my led tail lights to prevent possible moisture to go inside? Clear caulk was suggested to be applied around where the cover meets the housing. Here's the silicone gasketmakemer I have

I wouldn't silicone anything meant to be removed on a semi-regular basis. If you're having a moisture problem, you just need a new rubber gasket or new tail light cover.

just buy any cheap clear silicone and rub a bead around where the lens meets the back, and rub your finger on it so it runs flat.

my aftermarket led tails had 1 that was letting moisture in, heat gunned and siliconed. still good after 2 years

If you have it already I say go for it, im sure it would work fine. Its pretty much protected already being tucked behind the tail light housing.

Any kinda silicone or sealer would do the trick for that job.

The stock gasket works fine. It's not meant to be submerged, and if it is submerged , it needs to be able to drain out and vent to the outside.
Do you really think the LED thingys are going to last as long as they say??
