Silverstar vs Silverstar Ultra

Is there a huge difference between them? Does anyone have night time pics with these? I have Silverstars and was wondering if it would be worth getting Silverstar Ultras HID lighting not considering at the moment.

I had the regular ones and now have the Ultras and they are a tad whiter and they are supposed to last longer which would be great since I got over 2 and half years out of my originals.

so the regular silverstars lasted 2 1/2 years then failed right? I'm kinda considering Ultras but I would like to see at least a 25% difference, does it happen to have a white blue color when there on at night?

not very many blue tones in the light mostly a very bright white, i don;t know what i had in there before but i noticed an easy 50% increase from whatever i was running before.
 
I just bought some SS Ultras today. Had the originals still in and decided to swap them out. Auto Zone had $8 off the twin pack so I got both high & low beams for $89. I haven't used them yet in the dark so I'm also hoping to see a difference.
 
You'll notice that you get a much "cleaner" light compared to other vehicles with standard OE halogen headlights. Mine only lasted about a year, they worked well but I've had PIAA's for about 14 months now and they are working just as well, if not better than, the Silverstar Ultras
 
I have Silverstar Ultra's on my 4runner. Got them last year, and it was one of the best purchases i have made for my truck. A LOT better vision at night then my previous headlights (normal, cheap bulbs). If you buy ANY new Sylvania lights, i would recommend going on amazon.com.. got mine for 50% less than local auto parts stores..

are all of you still running your DRL's with these? cause i'm interested too i may have to get a set if i can get good life out of them without cutting any wires.
 
My truck does not have DRLs.. so cannot comment on that. But, I installed the bulbs 9 months ago.. and they are still bright as when new.

still have my dlr's, i think on the package ther's a 1 year man. warranty, i checked it out last week when i got them but the length of tha warranty eludes me right now, just read on the back of the box in the small print.

You can do the DRL mod *(easy for 02's, just cutting one wire if you can bring yourself to it) or pull up the parking brake one notch - not enough to engage the rear brakes themselves, but enough to trip the (BRAKE) light and disable the DRL's that way. My poor man's DRL mod:witch:
