I pulled one one of mine out. It said 9003, followed by H4. I use the Ultras in my headlights and in my Hella 500's, that way I get a matching color. I buy them at WalMart and keep my receipts. They will warranty them if they burn out within a few months. Swapped out a set or 2 like this when they burnt out.

i have silverstars in my 02 and yes they are H4 (same as 9003) and they are whiter and slightly brighter but i just recently ordered my HIDs so that i can get more visibility and itll look a little nicer on the color.
Thanks all. My headlights are yellow and dim. Looking for a whiter/bluer light to enhance visibility. From selling electrical equipment i am VERY familiar with color temperature. I see that the silverstars are 4000k. Would really like a 5000k or even 6000k, since the factory's are a 3100k (so i've heard)
Any GOOD, BRIGHT bulbs out there in that temp range, without having to convert to HID?

ur best bet if u dont want to conver to HIDs would be silverstars or the silverstar ultras... converting over to HIDs isnt that bad since DDM Tuning has very reasonable prices; i got mine shipped for $60.

There are two types of ballasts... depending on what ballast u choose, will depend on the final cost. apex-cone (fat ballast) vs slim ballast. Just make sure on which ever one that u order to get the hi/lo kit which is an extra $20.
Fat ballast vs slim ballast:
- Costs $10 cheaper
- Takes less time for warm up
- Takes a little more power to start-up and run
I weighed the options of one item over the other for a while and i personally decided that i was going to go with the fat apexcone version. Then came the decision whether to get the 35w or 55w kit and well i thought i was set on a 55w kit until i had personal experience with two rice burners blinding me with their over bearing 55w HID kits... I ended up getting an apexcone 35w 5000k HI/LO HID kit.

did you ever build or buy a heavy duty wiring harness?
Try 100/90 W bulbs. Don't go for blue light as they are horrible in a rainy night! Summit auto racing sells good branded hi watt bulbs.

I have the silverstar zxe bulbs. They are the brightest bulbs Sylvania makes they are a white/ blue color .
