No particular reason other than when I was a kid, I always thought the KC light covers looked really cool. I am also partial to Hella, but childhood fondness has me voting for KC.

Are you looking for off-road lights? If so, Lightforce are brighter than any other brand. They destroyed my PIAA's, and my two Lightforce's are brighter than 4 Hella's or 4 KC's of the people I have wheeled with.

They are a bit pricey... Hella's are extremely cheap though. Walmart sells them, but you get what you pay for.

The order of lights is:
Hella
KC
PIAA
Lightforce

That goes both for quality/light output as well as price. I'll never run anything besides Lightforce from now on.

Lightforce lights are pricey but have an a adjustable beam and are literally bulletproof. They're the lights you see on most of the professional offroad race trucks. I had a set on my Landcruiser in Japan and they were sweet.

You know I bought these bad boys about 3 or 4 years ago for my old S-10 Zr2 they are nastey bright. and they run off 100 watt bulbs.

I don't know anything about lights but i looked around a little bit for LightForce and found this page. They don't seem overly expensive than the KC's and the dude shoots it with a shotgun and hits it with a baseball bat and it still works. Impressive.
I love things that are built though and don't just give up on the first sign of resistance.

Wow, after watching Lightforce lights be shot at, beat on, and bashed, I must agree: Lightforce lights are the professional choice. I've never seen a light take that abuse. Not to mention, looking at the filters they had for the 240 Series (On this page, very fun to read), they have an available infra-red filter for military / security use for nightvision equipment. So, I say, if it's good enough to be installed on military vehicles (which I'm sure they are... bulletproof... infra-red...) it's good enough for any vehicle.

Buying Lightforce lights tonight. They're NOT that expensive for what they do. Also picking up a set of Yellow Combo Filters for the 240's. My 4Runner's gonna have some light output. :driving:
