Well my front diff drain plug is apparently hermetically sealed, however the fill came off easily. I was under there with ambitions to get the front diff and transfer case gear oil done, as the rear was just done, but I ended up with only the transfer case (that went great, though) getting done. I just cannot get the damn front diff drain plug out, and I tried all the tricks to no avail. In any case, has anyone ever siphoned the old stuff out and replaced it that way? How much (approximately) does that get out?
I'm soaking it now in even more PB, but I'm beginning to suspect I'll have to do it the "cheater" way, but if it gets 70% or more out I can't imagine it being any trouble. Still, I just wanted to get some opinions. It was last done at the dealer 35k miles ago by the PO, I suspect the tech just wrenched the bajeezus out of it when reinstalling it.
Thanks
