Sirius Radio Installation

I have an 06' Sport with the JBL 6 Disc. I am lost without my sirius, when I bought the thing they said that the wires were already pre-run...but I now know that was not correct.

I contacted three dealers in my area and they all say the same thing. There is the installation kit ($100) and the receiver kit ($199) and that xm is the only thing available for the 4runner, although sirius is available in the camry. What the f@$K, I don't want xm.

So do I buy the installation kit for the 4runner and the receiver kit for the camry? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just purchased a 06 sport V6 and I'm in the same boat. Can't afford to redo the entire system yet, but it just is not the same with out Sirius. Sirius is the only choice for those who like good rock.

No help??! Be more specific then: what are you looking to do? Your cryptic message only lacks a few heiroglyphic symbols of dog-men, fire, and spears which would then would render it the most ultimately confusing post since the dawn of time. I'm not sure teams of world-reknown archeologists and self-proclaimed 4Runner satellite radio experts could decipher your intentions from that post.

So... that being said. Let's start at the basics and we might be able to help you out.

Do you want a portable unit? I'm assuming not - since my previous answer apparently didn't help you.

So you must want a permanently installed unit in your 4R then, right? Take a look atTHIS.

Lastly, spend some time searching this forum (use the Search function) and see what others have done. Common keywords can include - but are not limited to - "Sirius, JBL, satellite, receiver".

Hope that helps you a little more there, king tut... :D

I have the JBL Synthesis HU which has the SAT button. I want to be able to use SIRIUS through the stock stereo, using the steering wheel controls. SIRIUS is an available option with the Camry, Highlander, Landcruiser....but not the 4runner.

I want to know how people are hooking up SIRIUS using the toyota supplied parts. Are they buying the systems for the other vehicles, and it works(universal)?

In response to Atomic_Punk.

If I am at the DEALER, asking the DEALER what parts I need in order to use toyota supplied SIRIUS...I thought it would have been plainly obvioius that I was looking for the DEALER installed SIRIUS, not XM or some portable unit.

I had an FM Modulated portable system in my previous vehicle and the sound quality blew.

You can ge the Starmate Replay for like $75 bucks and plug it into the audio jack in the center console for 1/3 the cost. I wanted the same thing you did when I bought mine, but they said it wasn't available (this was last October.) I just got the Starmate, had it professionally installed above the rear view mirror and viola Howard 100 and Hair Nation, 24/7!! Good luck with the Stealer..
