Skid plate installation for 06 4runner

Thanks to Atomic4Runner to help me with the installation. I posted the question tread in "Offroad" section but I think this is more of "Accessories" section.

Here are some of the pictures of the installation.

Step 1: Install the bolt to the "treadless" hole on the side of bracket. Top hole. The bottom one is for treaded bolt.

Install the bracket comes with the skid plate. Use the top bolt and low bolt to install the bracket to the frame. Do not over tight the bolts.

Repeat the step 1 and 2 on the other side of the SUV

Step 3: Install the skid plate to the bracket (left and right)

Adjust the skid plate and tight all the bolts.

Here is the final view. It took me total of 15-20 min for the installation.

Anyone know if this skid plate is '06 specific or will it fit an '05 as well?

It will definitely fit a 2005. I installed it successfully on my 2005 4Runner!

Will fit all 4th gen 4runners.

I installed on my 04, as well. All the holes match!

I bought mine from Partznet.com for $110 or so.

They fit all 3rd and 4th gen Runners but do require proper brackets.
I have one from the previous gen Tacoma and I had to make brackets to extend the plate forward to hug the bumper but that was done free by a friend and the plate cost me about $70.

It also gets removed for all off-road excursions which I am grateful it's just 4 bolts away.
