skid plate question for 2001

I'm new to these boards but I've been browsing around for the past few days...

I just read on one of the threads that a Tacoma Skid Plate will fit the 4th gen 4runners... but will this also fit my 2001???

Just like one of the guys on this boards said, to search on ebay under "TACOMA SKID PLATE"-I emailed the guys selling it but he said that it will NOT fit...

I know that I will have to custom make brackets but can I retro fit them to mine???

If you're just lookin for looks I don't see why it wouldn't fit.

Personally speaking those stock skids are a piece of junk so if you plan to do any offroading of any kind, I'd just get an aftermarket one.

It will be more for looks than anything.... I don't do any off roading so i just hope it fits.... thanks for the advice...

are you talking about the front aluminum one? don't know if the taco one will fit, but the '02 sport editions (01's too maybe?) came with the skid,. so they're out there. and yeah its really only for looks, one good whack and it'll be twisted..hopefully you'll find one on ebay that'll be an easy bolt-on
