You are only looking for someone to move on to the next vehicle. If they really wanted them, it can just be unbolted - but isn't worth the time and effort when there is another vehicle just down the street.

In city situations, the thieves have to move fast and theoretically would move on rather than linger in one place too long.
If the vehicle is parked overnight in an industrial or other deserted area, they've plenty of time to saw, unbolt, bend, take a break and do some meth, then finish the job.
My thought was that sawing through the cat protector wings would be substantially faster than unbolting the carriage bolts. But now I see there are only 3 bolts holding the wing on. I also wonder if any of the degen thieves would be able to bend the 1/8" steel? Many unknowns...
