Skid Plates

I am thinking about putting a front skid plate on my 4runner. It's a black Sport Edition, so I think the silver plate would look good. If anyone has a skid plate already mounted on their 4th gen, would you mind posting some pictures so I can see what they look like? Thanks.

There are stock skid plates on 2007 already on. Do you want to replace those with aftermarket or just add this:

If so, than it's just a cosmetic element and provides no protection, just looks.

Yeah that's the kind i'm thinking about. I know they don't do much for protection though. I 4X4 in snow most of the time for snowboarding though. Not a huge off-roader, so I just wanted something that would look good on a black 4runner. How long do you think it would take Toyota to put one on for me? Maybe 30 minutes?

The ? is how much will Toyota charge you for their 30 minutes.

Just buy it and do it yourself in 10 minutes. I remove mine for off road trips and it takes about 5. I just remove the plate and not the brackets.

It is a bolt-on affair, no drilling.

There's two sets of holes on each side of the frame rails under the radiator support, the brackets attach there. One is pre-threaded and the other, there's an anchor like nut that goes into the unthreaded top hole. The skid plate mount to the same points that most front grille/brush guards and bullbars attach to. A few members have posted install pictures of the skid plate and I believe there are pics of modded brackets to accommadate both the skid plate and grille/brush guards or bullbars.
