Have you already removed the rear seat bottoms? You may be able to squeeze in if you move the front passenger seat all the way forward, with the rear seat bottom removed. As a data point, I am 5' 11" and fit easily this way, without moving my front seats at all, so I think it comes down to how forward yours will move. Your legs would either overhang the footwell a little or you could put something down there for your feet or pillow/head. Good luck!

havent car camped yet in my 5th gen but in my 3rd gen I pulled the "sit" sections of the back seat that are folded up, out completely giving me an additional 6ish inches. Just pile in some clothes and a pillow in that area. YMMV

ok, I will bite :yo: What makes this different from just using a giant tarp and a pole? I did try google (bing) and I found some of their other products but I am sure my google-fu is weak [soldier systems story was as much of a tease as your post!]
I would love to hear your thoughts on this product, from the user prospective when you can!

Based on your name I suspect you do not want to get overly complicated with this setup. I might suggest Mombasa (one of the original makers of the RTT). Their primary business is actual mosquito netting. you can call them up and get some netting to cover the gap at the back. Having slept in the back of my 4runner in Marbel Falls TX, I can tell you that it works best if you open the back hatch only about a foot. this makes that gap much easier to close off (I did it with a canvas tarp) and there is no need to have it wide open when you are sleeping...because....bears...

Well, I'm not a salesman, but I will tell you this tarp is actually shaped more like a trapezoid offering better coverage. The tarp also has attachment points that allow you to secure the tarp to your vehicles rear wheels, and guy points on the sides to secure in wind. It also includes a pole to set up the tarp in different layouts. Although in basic form it is a tarp and a pole, we found that the structural integrity and lighter material of the Roadhouse stood up to weather better than just your plain old rectangular $5 tarp. Plus it looks cool in the desert tan color. :lol:

Not sure if OP has tried it already, but as a 6'2" guy car camping with my wife I found it much more comfortable to sleep with my head at the hatch side, allowing my feet to take advantage of the spaces around and between the front seats.
The other way around is truly murderous on your legs if you're tall.

When OP says "net", I'm thinking bugs.
OP, I once bought a cheap screen tent for this purpose. Just draped over the hatch. Not elegant, worked, needed strip magnets.

I took his thread to mean he wanted to have the back open for ventilation so I didn't answer.
OP, if you want to sleep in the back with the hatch closed and are just "too tall" then the solution, which gives you more than 6'05" of horizontal space, is a take on what [MENTION=129593]MTN4RNR[/MENTION] posted:

If you just want to leave the back open, you can buy bulk no-see-um netting (like what tent screen windows are made of) and drape it over the back, using strong circular magnets to hold it in place to the sheet metal. I personally never sleep with the back open, but then I also sleep in bear country. YMMV!
