Sleeping in your 4runner with the back open

Is there anything that you can buy like a net that covers the back if it's open? I'm 6'5 and want to sleep in the back at times when camping but I don't fit. Is there anything that would keep it covered that you can buy or would I have to make something of my own?

You don't fit diagonally? I'm 6',1" and have lots of room that way. Not ideal perhaps but better than having something rigged up with the hatch open - IMO.

If that doesn't work, I'd consider a RTT.

Not with someone else in the back I don't think so. RTT definitely just not right now. I don't want to leave it on full-time and have no place to store it when it's not on

Ah ok, I was thinking solo.

I wouldn't sleep back there with my wife either, too tight (no jokes pls lol).

Are you wanting protection from the bugs, the weather, or both?

There are SUV Tents that connect to the back end of the rig. I just bought this one for a quick trip in the desert.

It worked pretty good even though I have Icon stage 2 so the back is lifted a few inches. I didn't ( probably should have) taken pictures of it installed. Plus if you want you can disconnect and leave it free standing. A plus in my mind.

How bad were gaps for bugs and rain to get in? That lightning deal on Amazon right now is so damn tempting. It's only $140 right now. Regularly $260

Minimal bugs and rain in the California desert.
Rain fly can be on top and zippered mesh screens on doors and windows.
The opening on the car side can be zipped closed when not attached.
 
Having the 3rd row gives you more room from seatback to tailgate. You could even push the seat forward and the seatback as vertical as possible to make more space.

For the two row models, building a platform to get back the space consumed by the 2nd row seat bottom would give the same effect.
