Slider paint

Picking up my Avid rock sliders today. I asked for bare metal.
If I seldom, or never, went offroading I would have them power coated (or leave the Nfab nerf/steps), but I believe touching up powder coat is difficult. Rust is not an issue where I live in AZ. So I am going to 'rattle can' them.
Truck is Metallic Midnight Black, so the sliders will be black.
The decision is flat, semi-flat, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss?
Here's the nerf/steps that are coming off.

I live in Southern California and painted my sliders myself. I didn't want to spend the extra money on powder coat. Just make sure you prep well. Do your best to clean off all of the oil that's on the sliders before painting. You will use more paint that you think. I used flat black but the nice thing is if you decide to change color, let the paint dry, give it a light sanding then repaint. Can't have too much paint on them.

Another option I just thought of (not an original thought), gloss black on the tubes and bedliner on the plates.

I had mine powder coated and yea in the snow and ice i need to find something grippier for my kids climbing in to the back seat

POR-15. Can't chip it off with a chisel and hammer? Maybe not. As i remember it doesn't like direct sunlight. I guess just be ready to touch it up. But I think less gloss will be nicer. Let the truck shine instead of the sliders.

Did my sliders in black satin finish and my skid plates in flat black. I think the satin was a good choice for the sliders.

How to do you like the Avid sliders ? They're pretty inexpensive and local, but not sure how the quality is on them compared to other companies. I was also looking at Westcott Designs which are about $200 more, with about the same lead time.

Here's some pictures.
I'm using Rustoleum "professional" primer, paint, and bedliner.
Test fit them before doing anything else. All the holes line up. One weighs 43 lbs & the other 45 lbs.

My OCD was compelled to match the paint to the primer, Rustoleum "professional" epoxy.
Quandary was they had only flat or glossy. I wanted satin. So I got glossy.
So they have a 'less than optimal' coat of gloss black. Another coat will go on Monday.
One of the battles where I live is wind and dust, along with no place to work.
So I keep reminding myself that the come off and on very easily and repaint won't be difficult later on. The gloss epoxy should be a durable base.

The glossier the paint the harder it is to make OCD proof FYI lol.

Applied 2 coats of black. Next week one more coat.
Install them the following week (February)
Ordered them late October. I'm getting too old to be patient.

Got home this morning intending to put on 1 or 2 more coats. Nope, too cold to paint. Plus snow. In the desert.
Summers are over 110°. But winters we do get a dusting of snow. Every ten years we get a foot or so (2 years ago).
I considered putting the sliders on anyway but I don't want to lay in mud.
So I exercise patience.
