Wondering if they are fully enclosed or partially enclosed on the back? Could you provide a pic from the back side (4runner side)?

I meant the INSIDE of the sliders. Do you primer and powder coat inside?

these look terrific! question though...is the back totally open? also, any tubing/gussets/etc inside to provide rigidity? I'm not sure how these would take a slam with vehicle weight if they are not boxed in. hard to tell from the pics in this thread. thx.

Here is a photo of the inside, they are partially closed in and gusseted where the legs attach so they can take full weight slams. These are a similar style we have been making for Jeeps for years (Our sister company JcrOfffroad). Phillyd does that answer your question? The inside is primed and powder coated as well. The only thing that wouldn't be is the inside of the box tube legs, but they are fully welded and enclosed.

About 130lbs as a pair.

As a comparison, the non-KDSS version of the RCI skids is 120 lbs., or 110 lbs for the KDSS version.

Rock Lights as Courtesy Lights

I think I posted this in my build thread but I'll post it here for those who haven't seen it.

I looked on the forum for a write up on wiring to the dome light circuit but couldn't find anything with the actual wire to tie into. Eventually, I found this article by Frank Rebelo that describes exactly how to do it.

So you can wire your slider lights to a switch and as courtesy lights to light up on unlock.

Thank you! The sliders come with the lights and brackets but wiring and switch are not included. What you need will just depend on how you want to wire them.

These really look great! I like the rock lights built in.

Can the rock lights be linked to the door so they turn on whenever the door is opened?

Also interested in how far these stock out. Most sliders don’t really stick out far enough to be a useable step (which wife and kids need).
