I’m getting ready to order sliders to have in time for spring/summer wheelin’ adventures and I have found myself in a state of analysis paralysis...

Criteria in order of importance: True bolt on/ease of installation - no drilling or dropping gas tanks, step functionality, durable, tread plate, cost, looks, and lead time.

This is not an overly comprehensive list: but here is what I have looked at so far - these are not in any order. Thoughts?

Shrockworks sliders share a mounting point with the gas tank, and typically have a lengthy lead time, both of which you indicate are disqualifiers for you. it is an excellent product, however, and worth both "inconveniences" imho.

Thoughts?

I bought RCI sliders from Toytec, I love them so far! They are a 5% angle slider that RCI made in limited quantities for Toytec, so you won't see them on the RCI website. Check them out here.

Pros:
-Shipped to my door in a week
-Very easy installation. All bolt on to the preexisting threaded holes in frame
-Function well as a step
-Look nice
-Very beefy and sturdy (57 pounds a piece, not the 45 pounds Toytec advetised)
-Function as a rock slider...obviously

Cons:
-Very expensive ($845 before shipping)
-Heavier than Toytec claimed.


I was in the same boat you're in, and I searched everywhere. Another option to check out is Hefty Fab Works. Very similar to the RCI sliders I have! Best of luck in your hunt!

I am also in the market for sliders and this is how I'm going to pick; first I will narrow it down to the companies that offer powder coating, then I will send a message or call asking for lead time (even if posted on their website). If a company does not respond within 2 days, they are out. From the rest, I will probably go with shortest lead time and price.

There are a lot of companies (not just sliders), that are not good at responding, this is a major red flag for me and I don't do excuses (they are a one man shop, they are busy, etc...). If you are a business, then prompt responses to your customers or potential customers is vital if you want a good reputation and good word of mouth advertising.

C4 fab sliders are awesome. I just picked mine up on Friday and they look even better in person. I can't wait to get them painted and installed.

Powder may not be worth the money

Two cents anecdote here - digging my rig out of snow recently and banged the sliders and skids with a shovel. Was nice to just touch that up with some rattle can rather than being bummed about the new powder coat.

You may save a little time up front by paying for powder, but on these low hanging parts, you're going to have to touch them up. Might use that in consideration.

+1 more the the RCI/Toytec sliders. I was able to do the install myself using a floor jack and some jack stands. fwiw my runner has KDSS.

Might be helpful to include freight terms in the chart as well. I've seen everything from free shipping, to $300 ground shipping, to mandatory pick-up at a freight warehouse.

FWIW, I just ordered a set of RCI sliders. Wanted something with a full top plate, factory powdercoat, and usable as a step.
