Sloppy drive train

I have almost 5000 kms on my TE and the one thing I really don't like about it is the sloppy feel in the drive train at low speed. Actually there are 2 things, but more on that later. Driving my TE at low speed the transmission shifts feel harder than they should be. Letting off the gas or pressing the gas produces a noticeable lurch sensation in the drivetrain much of the time. It's really annoying because this happens a lot in bumper to bumper traffic. The second annoying thing is the brake assist, if that's what you call it? The brakes actually seem to brake more after a few seconds if the vehicle is still moving which forces you to compensate by releasing some brake pressure. It's just a really bad brake feel in my opinion. I hate having to feather the brake pedal just to get smoother braking on my TE. I'm used to it, but I don't like it.

I'm going to wait and see if the tranny smooths out, gets worse or stays the same. The transmission on my 08 FJ wasn't like this at all - but it was a real bugger to get to downshift whereas the 4R is a bit more predictable I think.

I don't dislike my 4R, but if you gave me the choice of taking back my 08 FJ TT, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Then I'd wait a year or two before deciding on a 4R again.
