2010 4RTE
It's the one thing I despise about these (prado) vehicles. 2500kms and the drive train on my 4RTE just feels like **** now compared to when it was new. The slip yoke is constantly sticking and many times I feel a thump during acceleration (after letting off the gas) and also during some braking. I lubed the 2 joints last week and the problem still persists just as bad. Furthermore, there have been a few times now where the truck exhibited substantial throttle lag when cold. Leaving for work in the morning I'd press down the gas and the truck would not respond for 1-2 seconds (yes, I'm waiting for it to be in gear).
Overall the drivetrain just feels sloppy now, sometimes unresponsive and not as smooth as it should be. At least the transmission down shifts a bit more reliably now. I remember when I'd floor the gas repeatedly on my FJ and the tranny just would not downshift at all sometimes. That was completely frustrating when trying to merge into highway traffic.
