That's why they're called wrinkle-walls and do the job of getting those ponies to the ground.

Yes, that's true, but they are also designed to increase in diameter as the speed builds. This improves the overall gear ratio and allows for a higher trap speed. Have you ever watched a tire grow during a Top Fuel burnout? If so, you'll see exactly what I mean.

Drag Racing Tires


A friend of mine used to have a 675-horsepower 1969 Chevelle that he used for drag racing. It was one of the quickest street-legal cars in the whole state of PA!!


He had a set of rear racing slicks that he would put on it when he took it to the track, along with a set of wheelie bars that hooked up nicely with the coil-spring suspension. In the wheels, there was actually a series of holes drilled in the bead of the tire and the rim -- to keep the rubber from spinning inside the wheel when you hit the throttle. Yikes!!!!

Now that was some power, huh?

Are you happy with your Revos? I hear a few complaints about the road noise every once in a while.

I do have mixed emotions about them.

scale of 1-10 ( 10 being the best )

Road noise = no complaints 8
Dry & Wet pavement = no complaints 8
snow = not overly impressed but decent 5
mud = suck 3
ride quality "P" rated 265/70 = 8
looks = 6 ( BFG look much better ) not very all terrain looking IMO .

I consider these tire's to be an aggressive all-season tire with a little edge for lite off roading. Fire- lane trail's and thing's like that.

I was out in some gooey mud about 3" deep , but gooey, tire's were terrible and hard to control sliding of the truck. It's not a mud tire though,but have had better luck with the BFG off road.

Would I buy again ???? Not really sure , probably go back to BFG AT or Revos depending on my needs and what look and performance I'm trying to achive.
