Small lift options

I know there are ton's of lift threads but I haven't seen many for a small lift.

My original plan for a lift was to go big with 9 wraps and toytec coils/billy's to work with some 33's. I ended up needing new tires before I garthered all the parts for the lift. So now I have new 32's and I don't want to put on these 9 wraps and end up with a massive wheel well gap.

I'll be honest and say I am mainly lifting for looks so I want to keep the ride quality good. I'm thinking 99 coil's with billstiens and 7 wraps.

What other options do I have to go for 1-2" lift.

From what im reading, despite what the lift FAQs say, 7 wraps are giving 4"s of lift so that would give you a lot of rake.

Ironman springs aren't used by many on here but I have a front pair for sale that will give about 1" lift. Barely used because I went with a 3" lift

actually 7 wraps will only give about 3" the 8 wraps are giving about 4" and the 9 wraps are giving about 5+"... id say go with the tundra 5100s on the 3rd setting with tundra TRD coils, and 7 wraps. you will get about 2.5" up front and 3" in the rear
 
I got closer to 4" with the 7 wraps I used...if you're only wanting 2", go with OME 906s in the rear. I had those previously, and that's the amount of lift I got.
 
OME 906 & OME 880 is what I've got and it sounds to be exactly what you're looking for. i also added a 1" body lift for a bit more clearance and to squeeze in bigger tires when the time comes. I'm very happy with my setup.

I'd say you're right if discussing the lower '01-'02's, expect about an inch on the taller '96-'00's.

I'd be interested to see how 906's and those Ironman 1" lift springs CJ80 has would turn out, could be excellent.
 
906 should be good for what you want, i run 906's with 98 coils that are 250k miles old and the 906 is barely taller. Maybe try 890's.

ive got the OME 883's with bilstein 5100's in the front. and Monroe shocks with the OME 906's in the rear if you want to check out what it will look like. im. also running 265/70/16 tires.

I wasn't really considering a body lift because I know my front shocks are getting long in the tooth. My rear ones rusted right through last year so I put on Lx 450 kyb shocks in plan for a lift. If I did a body lift I would still want to replace my coils/shocks up front.

I really didn't think the 9 wraps were 5 inch + that would have been a surprise when(if) I got those in!

If I went with the iron man coils or tundra coils on the first setting would coil spacers for the rear be an option?

I would also like to avoid getting into panhard bar drops and front diff drops.

Anyone interested in 9 wraps? forsale or for trade for a something smaller

I'd say OME 906's in the rear would be a better option for either those ironman or tundra coil setups than stock with a spacer. Stock rear springs are very soft, prone to sag, and will ride lower than the front anytime you throw more than a duffle bag in the back. The 906's are a really nice upgrade over stock, and should be part of any "small lift" IMO.
 
where are you located? i have a spare set of 8 wraps and would like to get a set of 9 wraps... or how much would you want for them outright?

Yep. My 7 wraps (which were technically 7.5 and 7.75, but according to the color codes in the lift thread they are 7 wraps) gave me almost 5" of lift. And even after running weight in the back for a few months, they never settled below 4.5" of lift. So for op, thats definately not the rout to go. You can look in my thread and see the rake I had after installing the 7 wraps. The rake was ridiculous even with a 2" lift in the front



Edit:

As already mentioned, you will want to go with 906s, 99 coils, Ironman coils, Performance Products coils, or a body lift. Those are all small lifts. Tundra lift give around 2" in the front.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I do like the back end being a bit higher but based on your pictures 7 wraps with a 1 -1.5 inch lift in the front would be way to much. Will I get some rack with the 906's and ironman or 99's up front? I have read the 906's are not great for towing. I do not tow alot but we do have horse trailor that gets pulled around 2 or 3 times a year. I don't mind it sitting low while I tow just as long as it is safe.

I found the 906's to be a huge improvement over the '99 talls w/ 10mm trim packers I had before them, I was towing 2 place snowmobile trailer, ~2500lbs I'd guess.
 
I was in the same boat a few months back. I went with Moog OEM springs and Bilstein 4600s. I ended up with an inch lift all the way around.
