Small tear in leather seat

Hi guys just notice last night I have a small tear in 4R Limited tan leather anybody has any idea how to fix??

Nope no warranty it was human error not covered already took it to the dealership

I've never had leather, but a quick Google search shows that there are kits available so you can do it yourself

I had an '03 Sport that ended up with several tears in the leather. I had an upholstery shop patch 'em up. I recall it being reasonably priced.

I don't do leather in Jap cars any more. Too thin/fragile. I've had a few Audis, the leather is much thicker and holds up over time. Loving that the TE has the water-resistant fabric, hopefully it holds up.

Anyway, you should be all set for just a few bucks at an auto upholstery shop.

I tried repairing the leather on my last car using a kit from my local auto parts store and it was a total disaster~ and when it came off a few months later the small hole became a huuuuge ragged gap

The kit & instructions Jesse pointed out are completely different from the POS I tried, but considering how both a) new; and b) expensive your rig is... Please, do yourself a big favor and have it done professionally! It may sting the wallet now but that's nothing compared with trying to live with or worse, fix a botched job, and the sooner it's fixed the less chance it has of getting bigger.

Must be a different grade of leather in your Audis. My cousin's '05 A4 Avant (with Ultra Sport package, so I doubt it's leatherette) the side bolster leather is completely ripped and torn. He's got 110-115k on it. He's meticulous about his car, so I wouldn't lump him as the type to neglect it.

I'll agree with you that some Japanese leather are worst than others. Honda leather appears to wear quite fast, 3-4 years old and 30k looks like 7 years old with 65k on a Toyota.

Leather looks nice, but it has a lot of upkeep and it's easily damaged.

Only pointing it out because you mentioned Audi specifically.

What he said above. Pay a few dollars and have a professional repair them while it's just a small tear. DIY kits usually don't last long and will cause the tear to become larger and more expensive to fix later down the road.
