I am sure this is a horrible situation no matter what. I can't help but wonder what would have happened if that was a Camry or similar sized car. Overall it looks to be a low speed crash and I can't help but think a Camry driver may have survived...

Holy ****. I would never ride or drive one of those. I see them going down the road. The people look happy, but little do they know how unsafe they are.

Hope they were ok...but by the looks of it it doesn't appear that way.

That car looks like its been through a junk yard crusher! Does it say where it happened and exactly what car it is? It almost looks like the truck in the rear couldn't see the car.

Are you sure that's a smart? Looks like it may have more than 3 lugs. I doubt another car would have fared much better. You've got two trucks with a lot of mass (solid structure to support them) and one in the middle with very little (relatively). Any car is going to be crushed before either truck crushes some or the dump truck in front is pushed forward.

My friend bought a mini cooper last year and I immediately called it a death mobile. He then said that it's safe and has a lot of airbags. I told him all the air bags won't do anything when the body of the car is crushed into the passengers. I think he realized I was likely right.

Anyways, I went looking for the story of the accident in this picture and unfortunately came across a smart (that was actually a vw fox) head on collision with a semi on accident. Absolutely gross. Body torn in half. I'm done searching.

I received an email on that crash. Supposedly that guy was texting and driving.
