They were able to do it with mine. But I can only open them, not close them. I'm not sure if you can do both.

Yeah, I read that earlier tonight - and went out the garage to see if it worked - and no dice. The rear window isn't that big of a deal - though it'd be handy.

I should say the dealer was able to program mine to do it as it's turned off from the factory. It wouldn't work prior to that.

I heard that the dealer has to program the key to have complete open / close function.
If you hold unlock then all windows and sunroof opens if they are in the closed position.
If you hold lock then all windows and sunroof closed if they are in the open position.
My GRX120 (Toyota Mark X) in China has the exact same key and this function works. Think we just need to go to the dealer and ***** when we get our first free oil change.

As others have mentioned (yes, I will flog this horse to death!).....
If you go to the dealer and ask them nicely, they should do it for no charge. I went in and had mine programmed within a couple of weeks of buying it. Either they were nice enough or just wanted to leave a good impression so that I would rate them highly when I received the Toyota Survey.
Anyways, the tech brought out the Panasonic Toughbook and hooked it up to the car and then went into TechStream to fiddle around with the settings. The guy was cool enough to go through every single option that showed up on the screen.
I do remember reading somewhere and seeing a video on youtube showing that the rear window could go down and everything else could go back up with the press of a button on the key. But like others have said, no luck. I wish it would go back up though, doing that would save me time of jumping into the truck and having to pull them back up.

Today's the first day in the 3.5 months that I've had the truck where it was warm enough to need this function. Hate to say it, but I had to play with the buttons just to remember how to get the fob to make the windows go down!

Auto Windows
I went to the dealer today in North Hollywood and they set it up for me so the windows open when I hold the Unlock button. Only the 4 windows open. The Sunroof and Back Window stay closed. The remote does not close them. I also asked them to change the Auto Lock so that the doors lock when I drive off (around 12mph) not when I put it out of Park.

Does anyone know if the smart key can be programmed to keep the car on after I remote start it and open the door to get in. I don't understand why if my car is running and I have e key in my pocket the car shuts off when opening doors.

Funny story, every GM truck has an LED display under the speedo that is controlled by buttons on the steering wheel.
You can, quite easily and in your driveway, program everything to how the doors behave, to the windows, headlights, interior lights, remote, etc. using clear, ENGLISH menus navigated by the steering wheel mounted controls. You do not need to plug the truck into anything special, go through mountains of codes, or beg the dealer to do it for you for free...
This has been around for over 15 years now and is in just about every GM SUV and pickup. The info display also can show you transmission temperature, the pressure in EACH tire, engine hours, and a variety of other useful things.
Catch the **** up, Toyota.

They will not, or rather should not charge you anything. Just take it in and see one of the Service Advisors. They will come to your truck hook up the Panasonic laptop and use TIS to turn the "Yes/NO" to "Yes" in the windows section, ask them to also do it for the Moonroof.
When I called my dealership, the Service Advisor had no idea that it could be done, and I explained to him that it was in the manual, so it must be an option. He was more than eager to get me in to test it out for himself.
There are other post about this, and it seems that some Toyota Service Advisors know about this feature and some do not. However, it can be done and they should not charge.
Alternatively, you can purchase the TIS software/kit from eBay if you want and have a Windows based Laptop and do it yourself. The "kit" ships with the TIS Software and the USB to service plug cable.

This is seriously how remote start works? I have a 2010 limited with every option except remote start and i was thinking about adding it, but if it shuts off after you open the door walking in from the outside, I don't think I will! How annoying!

that's why you go 3rd party and not oem. I have 3rd party on all my vehicles except the new 2014. I have heated seats, that's all I need since a warm vehicle is just gonna make it to dam warm when I am dressed for -20F weather driving.
and since I have have to drive 15 miles one way I dress for being stuck/stranded on the side of the road going to work. everyone else works in town so they dress lighter.

That's how the factory remote start works. Very annoying to say the least. The only way around it would be to go aftermarket, but you better make sure you find a competent installer. A few members on here have had issues with aftermarket remote starts.

from rumors I have heard, on the 2014 a lot of the 3rd party use the factory remote to start, this has the same issue as the factory remote start, door opens, engine shuts off.
to piggyback on mason's post, you have to have a competent installer to install the 3rd party as a separate system to bypass this issue as most will just cop out and do the easy install.
