smell after running on AC

how about this one:
after running the AC for a bit, and then turn if off and switch to cold fan air, the fan air smells funny. like moisture, something wet. after a while is back to normal, no funny smell. if i turn the AC on again, and then off, the fan blows that humid kind of air again. any ideas?

p.s.: bought the car a month ago, was told the air filter has been changed.

It's because the dehumidifier isn't working when the AC is switched off, it's worst when if you're in recirculating mode.

When using your AC it's more efficient in recirculating mode. But as you're approaching your destination or getting ready to switch off the engine soon, switch it back to fresh air mode leaving the AC on. Run it in fresh air mode for a couple minutes and then shut off the AC, while it's still in fresh air mode continue running the fan to allow the dehumidifier to clear of any moisture.

Usually, you'll get the smell if you shut off the climte system completely or if you turn the AC off and stay in recirculating mode.
