Smooth ride?

Is it just me or does the 4Runner ride extra smooth sometimes (well, more often than not)? Temperature seems to play a part, but I think there's something else to it. When it's colder than 30F, it's smooth, but not THAT smooth. I've noticed the optimal temperature range for an extra smooth ride is 40F-60F. I haven't gone through a summer with my 4Runner yet. Just wanted to know if anyone else experiences the same thing. Anybody know what other reason there might be besides temperature that's causing this? Just curious, that's all.

tire pressure?

It may have something to do with tire pressure that varies with temperature. When I first got my 06 SR5, I thought it seemed to ride a bit rough compared to the one I test drove at the dealer.

Later I checked the tire pressure and all four were at 36-37 pounds. I lowered them to 32 and the ride improved a lot. Some say it may lower your MPG a bit but I've not seen any difference. I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit to get the better ride anyway.

Just a thought.

tire pressure would actually drop with the temperature making the ride smoother. maybee the oil in the shocks gets thicker when it's cold but they should warm up after driving a while. also, the rubber bushings in the suspension might get stiffer in cold weather.
