Snow fun in NJ

The school and day care were closed, so we decided to do a little sledding.

First we cleaned the snow of the 4Runner

Then we headed to Holmdel Park. The lot nearest to the hill was closed, so we had to walk in the snow :crybaby:

Finally, we arrived

Unfortunately, the snow changed to freezing rain, and the snow on the ground was very sticky and sledding was not good, so we decided to change the venue :driving: and drove to Marlboro Airport. The airport was closed several years ago (the property was sold to a developer, and later the developer and former Marlboro mayor were accused of corruption and bribery), but the property is still not developed. And, obviously, not maintained - NOT PLOWED!!!

4Runner is cleared for Take-Off:

Take-Off aborted due to low visibility, but mostly due to the fact that the junior co-pilot was hungry and wanted to have his lunch :hungry:

We had 2 awesome snow-days!!!

Its amazing how a bit of snow can change perspective....just be thankful that it is going to melt away there in a week or so.....Here (Minn.) the snow banks on both sides of my driveway are 8'+ and have been for 2 months. Have been wanting to post pics of my recent (1/20/10) mod (Daystar 2.5 / tires/rims) but haven't been able to wash the truck and keep it looking good (salt on the roads every 2-3 days from more snow). Maybe I'll get a chance tomorrow....Oh wait....more snow on the way........:happens:

Dude, why do you have to be such a sourpuss???

I actually love the snow, and all things winter in general. Unfortunately, here in NJ it is a rare to have any appreciable snow...

Wahh, wahh, wahh :crybaby: For 21 years I lived in the city where the winters lasted 6 months, and it was so cold that your spit froze before it hit the ground (or snow). There was so much snow that it was loaded on the trucks and dumped onto the frozen river, but it never was a reason to close schools or businesses. Schools would only close if the outside temp was below -35C.

Oh, well... :peace: brother

Nice thread man.

I always like to see a father and child spending time together. Looks like y'all had a good time.

Nice videos too.

What tires do you have on there?

Thanks man. Actually, I'm not in the pictures - those are both my boys. And I LOVE spending time with them.

The tires are the original Michelin Cross-Terrains. I would like to upgrade to Nitto Terra Grapplers. Hopefully once the bonus comes in (if it does).

Those are great pictures! You were playing around in my neighborhood- we should have met up and did donuts together.

If you want to have some sledding fun, go to the hill at Freehold Mall.
