snowboard rack.

so i went to price a snowboard rack for my 4th gen. 4r and the rack was 150. then they told me i will need new cross bars that are another 200 bring the price up to like $350 with out tax. but the girl did not really know what she was talking about. so my question is. do you need new cross bars? or will the stock cross bars work? anyone have any pics is well. thanks guys

Stock bars should work fine. Yakima has the mighty mounts that work with them and Thule has something similar (forget the name). I would look for a used rack too, I have seen them on Craigslist recently for $50-100 bucks.

I found a set on ebay for $118. They guy i bought them from has usually a good selection. Mine also came with the universal mounts that mount on the factory crossbars.

I have the stock roof rack & cross bars and run a Yakima FatCat6 w/ no issues

I can carry (4) boards as well
