so... i hit a concrete barrier

its the first time its snowed here in probably 10 years, so 5 and 1/2 inches is a pretty good amount. i guess no one knows how to drive in it here including me but i was attempting to and went looking for people who were stuck and saw some guys stuck and i was slowing down towards the end of an over pass to help them and lost control and got straightened back up but was still out of control and slammed into the barrier. good thing im not dead but my ride is kinda messed up. everything is really fine engine and drivetrain wise, it drives fine and 4wd still works so thats good, but i guys its time for a sport hood and a bumper replacement. heres the pics

Well, I know it's a bit of a drive down to Houston, but CertiFit Auto Body Parts - Home has a location here that will have everything you need to fix that and you'll save a LOT of money over going to the dealer. I fixed my ride that had similar damage for about $150.

Brush guard FTL? Get an arb to replace that bumper, heavy but i saw a grand cherowagon hit a tree with one of those going 25 and all it did was dent it a lil bit

That sucks man, glad you're ok though. I think it'd be cool if you went with a 99-02 fatlip to update the styling, if it's your style. It should bolt right up. They're like $120 on eBay.

I don't know. It looks like the brush guard too the brunt of the hit and saved him from more extensive damage.

I have 98 that I took the brush guard off and also the front bumper is coming off in two weeks. If you want to go with your current look.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm going to go with a bumper replacement but I dint wanna pay for an arb and I'm not really feeling the savage offroad look if anybody has some links to something sort of inbetween the two or any links to inexpensive front bumper replacements hit me up

I just went through a sport hood replacement if you wanna talk about what i did to save money, etc. I have all the Toyota part numbers youll need to save you time too. Just know it's a lot of money.

Well look at the bright side, ARB style bumper could come out of this, get some 99-02 headlights, 02 grille, etc.

if the brush guard took that much damage, imagine what would have happened if you didn't have it. I am of the opinion that your brush guard kept you from needing a new radiator or other major engine components.

thanks and i agree with you man. I'm glad i had the grill guard i dont know how anyone could say it didnt protect my car. i mean i didnt just bump the thing i slammed going like 30 :wtf:
