So Long 4Runner....Hello...

After having tremendous fun owning (since 2007) and modding (since 2015) my 2003 V8 2WD SR5 @ 191,198 miles, I knew that I had to move on to a real 4WD or All-WD - always wanted one. Sadly today, I drove down to San Diego and parted with my pride and joy, sold it (more like gave away) to my GF's brother-in-law, a great guy. I know he truly enjoys it, really wants it, and can really use it for the family with 3 little boys. Sad but happy it goes to a family who will keep it...at least I can still see and drive it.

Farewell, my old friend...

It's amazing: on the 2WD 4Runner, I had 1" BL, 3" Suspension Spacers, & 2.5" Bilstein suspension lift + bigger tires. And all that for the SAME HEIGHT as the AWD GX 460 with only 2.5" Leveling Kit/Spacer Lift + not as big tires. GX is absolutely AMAZING! Super quiet, smooth comfortable ride (almost seasick!), and plenty of torque and HP (just shift 4th/3rd gear for up hill and passing for this heavy, gas guzzling BEAST!)

So, passed the Torch today.

And the journey continues....hopefully will joint GXOR - GX OffRoad FB group - looks like an awesome group just like T4R here! I'll still be around. Later folks, thanks for everything!!!

Nice. Got a gx460 myself. What did you do to the old rims and what tires are on it now? Looks great!

Thanks, bud. Still have the almost brand new stock rims 18x7 with tires (under 600 miles) Kumho Solus KL21 265/60R18 - smooth and quiet. I'm thinking of selling them as a set.

As for upgrades, I went slightly conservative size with great new tires: Yokohama Geolandar G105 285/60R18 with Helo HE904 18x9 wheels, and 2.5" Daystar Leveling Kit. ..65... Or ..70.. would rub for sure.. Forgot, also 1" hub centric wheel spacers.
