So many 4runners............

For every 4Runner that I see, I come across at least 10 Jeep Grand Cherokees.

You would have to go with 265/70/17's. Some people don't get any rubbing at all, and some experience slight rubbing when the wheels are turned all the way to either side, like a U turn.

But doing so wouldn't void my warranty or anything would it? I don't see why it would. Plus, I guess I would have to get 5 tires since my spare is the stock size. Also, would going up a size mess anything up with the truck?

Ditto, and most I see are driven by either girls, or d-bag looking teenage guys. Of course there are always exceptions. I was actually considering looking at a 2007 JGC, but I decided otherwise when I found out that Consumer Reports put them on their Least Reliable list.

Mike,

It would give you almost 1 inch of extra clearance, and will make your speedometer a little off. It's something like if it says you are going 60, you are really going like 63.

Tires will not void warranty. They aren't a warrantied item to begin with. I got a nail in the side wall of my tires about 4 days after I bought the truck, and had to pay for a new one.

IC, I was just wondering that by using a different size tire than they suggest, if something were to go wrong with my 4Runner, I wouldn't want them to blame it on the different sized tires.

I believe it's only 1/2" extra clearance. The 1" is divided between the top and the bottom;):

Except most people don't ever care about another 4runner around them, they just keep looking straight.

When I first got my 4Runner I tried for a while to wave at other people in their 4Runners. Kind of like people do in their wranglers. Anywho, all I got was weird stares, and quickly stopped.

I've never tried it since they are mostly moms, I don't want them to think I'm waving for the wrong reasons. :bash:

I live in Boulder, Colorado, and as you might expect, a large amount of 4runner owners live here. There's been times when I pull up to a stop light, and theres a 4runner on my left and a 4 runner on my right. I always wonder what the person behind me thinks

Hello,

I see all generations of T4Rs here. There are more 4th Gs, but plenty of 3rd Gs. Once in a while, a 1st G will appear and in good shape. It says a lot about the durability of the T4R.

Yeah, some people on here own 1st gens, and some of them look as good as new. Some look better than new because of mods.

Help

Hey guys my name is Noelle I am looking to buy a 2004 4runner with that 126,000 miles on it. It has had regular upkeep and quite a bit of work done to it timing belt changed 1 time and water pump changed twice, with only 1 owner. I live in Colorado, it is a 4x4 and I'm just looking to see if I'm getting a good price. They want $9900 for it. Please help thanks!

It all depends on where you live/or go to. In my immediate area, there's maybe 6-7 4th gens including mine and about the same number of 3rd and 5th gens. Just 80 miles to the east in Albuquerque, you'll lose count pretty quick of the amount of 4th gens. Cali, yes a ton of them but I think there's actually a higher ratio in Colorado. Tons of 4runners all over the place up there. In far north central ND, I think I saw one lonely 4runner and only a few in Grand Forks.

I don't see too many 4th gen at all and no body waves here in Toronto. Maybe that's because I have a beige T4r ?
