Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone knows how to remove the rear trunk chrome "4Runner" logo for painting. Also, I would like to remove the front grill chrome logo as well.

Front emblem pops off, use a very small flat head and pry off. Not sure about the rear letters,

Looks like the front one comes off using these steps (just went to my garage to figure it out).

1. Pop hood
2. Remove trim cover that hides the front of the radiator
3. The cover is held on by little pop tabs where the center needs to be popped up/out and then the tab will come out.
4. There are two screws on either far side of the rear (as in, inside the hood) of the chrome trim. Remove those
5. Then there are little pressure tabs that hold the chrome trim piece in place. Gently push on each and pull the chrome at the same time from the front.
6. The center tab is a little different from the others and is located on the bottom of the chrome piece
7. Voilla! Removed.

Hah... well I am talking about more than just the toyota emblem. I am talking about the whole thing - including the trim around the emblem. That piece is held in by two screws.

I painted the rear by taping it off. Might make the front easier.
