Heh. That's what I keep telling my wife.

1995 SR5 V-6 4WD Limited, 184k miles, 31X10.5 BFG All Terrain T/A KOs, Downey 1.5HD rear coils, 9" Doetsch MV-12s, Hella 1000 fog lights, Alpine XM/CD head unit, and lots of rear window dog drool. I'm the second owner, bought it from a dealership in 1997 with around 35K on the clock. Had the dreaded head gasket blow at around 156K.

I think the second generation 4Runners are the best looking 4Runners, and very offroad capable, and this was the last year for them. I just wish they had put a better engine (like the subsequent 3.4) in them. I'd like to get a couple more years out of this one, and then move up to a nice used 3rd or 4th gen.

Yeah, the 2nd generations are great, but the V6 is a little thirsty and not much power. I think a company from China is still making them.

As far as a classic, we put both 1st and 2nd together. So, yes, it is a classic and a great 4Runner.

Welcome aboard! Nice truck! Not to start any flame wars but IMHO i think the 2d gens are the slowest (get up and go) from all gens.

And yes, it isn't referred to as the 3-point-slow for nothing. But having driven old Jeeps and Broncos before I bought this, I never looked at a 4WD vehicle as needing to be quick off the line, so that never bothered me. The only time I lamented its lack of power was driving in the mountains, where on Interstate highways it was always downshifting to pull a grade, and even then I felt like I was whipping it. Now that I use it almost exclusively for local driving and very mild offroading, and of course for hauling the dogs, that's not an issue, either.
