as i was starting to ignition the '99 4runner, it wouldnt start, it would made a clunking sound like "cloak, cloak" . it shouldnt be wrong with the transmission, caused i changed the oil every 2500 miles, and it has only 76k miles. i recently changed the battery, and it cant be wrong with the battery, but thankfully this had happened on my driveway.

Just curious as how does the truck not cranking be a problem w/ the transmission? Also, how does changing your oil ever 2500 miles have anything to do w/ your tranny?

I agree that your post doesn't make any sense, and therefore we won't be able to help much. How do you know the battery is not the issue, did you test it? Are you saying you change the tranny fluid every 2500, a little excessive, and if it's the motor oil how would that affect the tranny, or the truck starting for that matter. Make sure you have a spark, fuel and a charge, then check back with more info on your problem. And I'm not trying to be a jerk, just trying to get info that will get you help.

If you just changed the battery make sure your terminals( the red and black cables that attach to your battery) are nice and tight.

Sounds like a breathing problem.....or a fuel delivery issue
