I have been reading all the posts about the 5k and 10 k free services- so what is the consensus? Is it even worth bothering with them? Or when it comes time, should I just go in for the paid one?

Go in expecting only 2 oil changes for the entirety of the 25k/2year free service and you'll get what you expect.

Free is free. Ill take the two free oil changes. And free tire rotations aren't bad either.

BTW the dealer I go to seems pretty thorough, sometimes. Last time it was in for the 5k tire rotation etc, they sprayed some foamy greasy stuff on all the hinges and latches. Stopped my tailgate from squeaking real good. They also do all the chador lube, re torque hoo hah they are supposed to (the harsh condition maintenance schedule).
