Sold my 2003 SR5

...and bought a CPO BMW 530i. I'm kind of regretting it. I think the 4runner suited me a little better.

I bought my 4runner new in 2003, put 125K miles on it, it never missed a start, even in the Minnesota winter, and a faulty ABS module (fixed quickly under warranty) was my only issue ever.

I'm not sold on the 5th gen yet, so I have been secretly looking at GX470's on the internets. I hate the side-opening door and lack of a roll-down rear window.

Hey that's not a bad idea. As for me, I plan on keeping my 4Runner until it is just a non-functioning bucket of bolts, but my next car will be a BMW 3 series. Congrats on the 530 man, that is an amazing vehicle. I love my 4R for the utility and all that, but for pure driving bliss, NOTHING compares to a BMW. In my opinion, they are the best cars in the world.

Thanks. If I could have done a 3 series I would have, but with 2 kids it wouldn't have been big enough. The 530i definitely has it's moments. Problem is during a commute with a bit of traffic. It's designed to devour miles on the autobahn. It's frustrating to hold it back. With the 4runner I used to just plop into the middle lane, put on some sports radio and roll with the traffic.

I drove a lot of unibody SUV's during my car search. The MDX and X5 were really nice to drive, but the 4G 4runner actually has terrific road manners. It's way less trucky than the Pilot.
