Solution For Reaching Rear Ladder

Curious now that I have a RTT and swapped out my rear jerry cans for a swing out ladder, how do you step up to the ladder on a lifted vehicle and high clearance bumper?

I’ve thought about bring a step ladder but that gets a little big for carrying inside. Ordered the NFab hitch step, but that thing is a little big and sticks about an 1” beyond the spare tire, so too far out for my liking.
My other thought is to use a hitch without a ball and step onto that.

Curious what you guys use?

Also, side use is not an option for me with an awning on one side and a shower awning on the other side of the roof.

Dont have this issue but this solution came to mind. As you said a step stool would be bulky and hard to pack around and keep accessible.

I think the folding one you linked would work. I had one of those a couple years ago, a cheap one from Aldi, and that broke after a couple dozen uses. The one in your link has a good weight limit. I’ll be ordering that today.

What if you hung a mini step like a swing… two short ropes and a board from somewhere? Could bungie it up high and tight when not in use.

I have been thinking about something like this bolted to the bumper:

Although honestly, I just grab the ladder rung and put a foot on the bumper and pull myself up. That being said I'm 6'1.

This is an option too, although it sort of eliminated the need for the ladder
