Some 3rd Gen lift Q's

Ok so I am not a 4runner newb by anymeans however with that said this is my first 3rd gen 4Runner. I have had a lifted 2010 Trail and a Lifted 2004 SR5 and a lifted 2003 Limited.

I have my lift already OME 881/890 I am planning on doing the diff drop but my questions are about the rear panhard bar and extended rear brakelines are either one of these really needed? I know the panhard bar keeps the rear center how much does it really move over? Never noticed anything on my past 4runners

Also the rear brakelines? I never needed extended lines before.

Last question is anybody runng stock struts with 881 coils?

I did some searching just didn't find much thanks in advance

You don't need the panhard drop or extended brake lines. I'm running the 890s with neither.

As far as the 881s, I can't help you with that. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Stock front strut will be overextended with the 881's. Will ride like crap. I haven't read about anyone running that setup. You're gonna definitely want to replace the front struts. What sucks is how expensive the OME struts are.

Did you sell your 5th gen?! That truck is/was sweet! Glad you joined us 3rd gen'ers though

I kinda figured it wouldn't work I am not thrilled about the price of OME Struts either.

yeah I sold the 5th Gen awhile back it was pretty sweet I do sometimes miss it, But having an Evo and a 3rd Gen more then make up for it.

You might try doing some research into seeing if anyone has paired them with some tokico trekmasters... I want to say drifter had his old 881s paired with those struts. Let me give him a call real quick [MENTION=50502]driffter33[/MENTION] hahaha

Yeah deffinatly the best of both worlds lol, it would be nice to save a few dollars on struts I am trying to mod this 4runner on the cheap and every little bit helps. Saving money for stage 3 mods on the Evo shooting for 400 WHP

Also to save some coin I see your running LC shocks in the rear? Which year fit the 4runner? I would think LC stock shocks should be considerbly cheaper then OME rear shocks

Yeah you could run those, they might be a little long but they should work fine. They are OEM tokico rear shocks for a 91-97 land cruiser. There's a part number around here somewhere, found it: part #48531-69417

J-Money$$$ and Brian2Sun were using the tokico trek masters for a bit, part number GE4095. They are around 10-20$ cheaper than the OEM's I have and they got them online, I got mine from the dealer for $45 a piece.

The only problem with the LC shocks paired with the OME coils is that if you run them with no sway bar and get in a pretty flexy situation, the coil could potentially fall out. You could either run limit straps or something I've thought about doing would be getting some longer rear end links so there's no chance of the coil falling out, but you also get that extra flex versus hardly any with the stock end links.

hamiltonj2w1 - since you're talking about a low budget, you might think about grabbing some LC coils instead of the 890's. Look for some 7 wraps.

Haha no problem!!

I wish I could get my hands on some 7 wraps, I love the flex of the LC coils but also the height of my 890s 7 wraps would be perfect

I already have the OME 881/890 coils I picked them up from another member on the forum for a really good price a few weeks ago.

I don't plan on getting to crazy wheeling this rig..... for now, but I was planning on still running the rear swaybar so that should keep everything in check.... Hopefully

Still can't find any info about Tokico struts paired with OME Springs, Also it seems the Tokico Trekmasters aren't made anymore in this #GE4095 I think I am going to just run the factory LC shocks do you know if they come with all the bushings and other hardware?

The only downside to not running an adjustable panhard bar is it dog tracks like crazy and makes your runner look very ghetto as a result. Then again, I have 9 wraps so the effect was probably more exaggerated on mine.

I ran the 881 with OME strut and top plate spacer! You might get away with useing a tundra strut with the 881 but I have not seen that combo!
