Some 5th Gen Trail Edition questions

I was on the Toyota website and to build a 4Runer and it would only let me chose between Ltd and SR5? I would imagine this version is not ordered by the dealer as much as the Ltd and SR5. I dont imagine the 5th Gen selling much volume as it is since its an EVIL, EVIL body on frame, baby seal killing, ozone depleting, spotted owl desroying machine. I live in a pretty big metro area and have seen one 5th gen on the road and each Toyota dealer near me has like 3 or 4 4runners on the lot. Tops. Sadly, I think this will be the last generation of 4Runner or at least a 4Runner that stays a real truck so I am tossing around the idea of getting a 5th Gen in 6 months or so. Will this Trail be hard to order or is it just as easy to do as getting a SR5? Is the pricing between SR5 and Ltd? For guys that own them, how are the seats holding up and how comfortable is the fabric in cold and hot weather? In that price range I would want leather but not an option on them. Sunroof standard? Whats the JBL option cost? I think long term the Trail will hold its value well and be a hot item for years to come. May have two 4Runners in the future because at 105K miles and like new, I cant part with the 3rd Gen.

Go on toyota, and click build your own, or whatever, but you can use the zip 28202 and you should be able to build it, I can still look at all the trail info your talking about on toyota.com right now. If you just click on 4runner, then click models and prices it will pretty much answer every single one of your questions.

With the exception of the seat question... After having multiple cars with leather, I love these new water proof seats. They dont get hot, and they dont get cold, but they dont soak up odors, or liquid, or pet hair (at least not my dogs). You can still get the dealer to throw in heating elements if you want heated seats so they are IMO best of all worlds (except luxury, but if thats what your shooting for buy a lexus).

I was going to dump the waterproof seats in my Trail and change them to leather right after I bought it. That was my big plan. Even found the place to do it that does the Rolls and Bentley near me.

Not a chance now.

Seats are cool when it's boiling hot outside. Comfortable when it's freezing cold. And you don't slide of when you're bouncing around off-road.

I have the same issue, but I used 15024 since thats where I am originally from. A preconfigured $40k Trail edition pops up with water resistent seats.

The Build a Toyota tool is cool when your researching to come up with ballpark estimates, but the actual inventory is what you really have to pick from if you want any shot at negotiating a great price. Some inventory has been sitting longer than others too, which is why some of the smaller options (ie. xm radio) are included in the vehicle even though the Build a Toyota tool doesn't include it.

Realistically, your going to be using 'buyatoyota.com' to identify your nearest dealers and their inventories. Its about 90% accurate since we don't know how often the inventory record is updated from each dealer (ie. nightly vs. weekly).

Worst website EVER. Using that zipcode I can only choose a 4x2 SR5 or 4x4 Ltd.

Using ZIP 97229 I had no problem spec'ing a TE on toyota.com.

95112 has the Trail but with nav package only. There's also 4x2 SR5 and Limiteds available too.

You can also check the Toyota.ca, the vehicles are the same with different option packages and of course the price.
In here, Canada, the Trail comes with KDSS, sliding cargo, cargo divider, spider cargo net, cargo cover and towing receiver. There are no options to purchase with trail such as Nav.
I recommend the Trail with KDSS. Otherwise SR5 is just fine.
