Some A**hole broke my mirror...

hey Guys,

Some bastard, son of a trucker fawked up my mirror... I parked it during lunch on the street, I come back and the drivers side mirror has hole on the outer shell.... the scum took a screw driver and put a hole in it....

sorry....

so what do i do now? i drove away w/out a police report, and if I had them involved my insurance was gonna go up and not worth it....

I drive a silver 4 runner, where can I purchase this mirror? and if so, any idea how much? and installation advice appreciated...

Changing the mirror is extremely easy. All you have to do is pull out old one (if you have got heated mirrors make sure not to overpull the wires which are pluged into the mirror) and put back the new mirror and plug the wires.

I'll suggest to buy OEM mirror from partznet.

the mirror is fine, it's the outer shell around the mirror that's broken

I wonder if that's sold separately....

Most times they aren't sold separately, one whole unit. (changed my Sienna twice) I second partznet for a place to buy.

And just to clarify, partznet is the parts department for Conicelli Toyota in Conshohocken, PA.

over the internet, it's $215 but when I get it over the phone it's $280...


do you know if I have to take the door panel off to do this? and If i dont work on cars, am I asking for trouble by doing this on myown?

You will most likely have to take the door panel off. Not that big a deal though. It is mostly held on with pressure clips that you just pull at that spot and it releases. Maybe one or two screws, usually around the armrest. Just take your time and you can do it and save some money on installation. once you get the door panel off it is just two screws and a plug to disconnect. Pretty simple and straightforward.

Doesn't surprise me about the two different prices. That is two different competitions. internet = wordwide, phone usually is local.

When you call ask for the internet pricing.

what trim model was it cause i have two mirrors that are pratical new for an sr5

It's a 03 silver sport edition, but they are heated mirrors...

Id be willing to drive out to you, if u wanna $lap it on for me, got any pics?
 
Sport Edition has painted and heated mirrors.

SR5 edition has unpainted and most likely non-heated mirrors.

Argggghhhhhh!! Please stop reminding me that my SR5 has the numb black, non-heated mirrors! I'm starting to get a mirror complex over here. :(
