Some Help With Rear Speaker Install...

So, I'm pretty new here (hence the first post ) and I just picked up the new whip last week...
-04 SE, with JBL 10, etc, etc... basically stock.

I stumbled across two brand new sets of 6-1/2" alpine spr-17LS speakers... fo' free! 2 speakers to a box along with tweets and crossovers. I've done my fair share of searches this evening and I'm struggling to find the answers i need... but needless to say, i made a virgin attempt to put one set of these suckers in the back. Now i ask if I should:
-Just put the speakers in the back without the crossovers and tweeters?
-Put all 3 in the back on each side?
-find a way to make the other set fit up front and replace the tweeters up there too?

I dont know, i'm sort of lost. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I did start in the back with just the speakers and i got off the door panel and the old JBL speaker, now as i try to fit these in there they are like 1/4" to small which i think i can still make work (can I?) and i dont really know how to connect the prongs on the new speaker to the white plug that i pulled outta the old speaker. Solder? Strip the plug off and use bare wire with electrical tape? Is there a connector i can get? eh eh?

Enlighten me...

Roanoke Maroon myself --- I've gotten replacement speakers from Crutchfield Stereo. They give you a white plastic adapter and those flat "speed" nuts to adapt "wrong" sized speakers. They also supply adapter plugs. These are free when you buy from them --- but at least it shows they are available. I like soldered wires and using shrink tubing (Radio Shack) over electrical tape which shrinks and falls off.

why are you putting those in the rear?

Those belong up front (if the fronts are factory)

Hrm... So, they will definitely work is what i get out of that. I think they'll just be attached by 2 out of the 3 screws into the door and dangle (eeee, scary) cause they cant reach the 3rd hole. As far as connecting them. Head to radio shack? I mean, you sound like you figured it out, but i didnt order from crutchfield- Soooo, yep. I think thats my plan... heading to radio shack tomorrow and see if they have any connectors or w/e, cause i ithink the tape is somewhat of a sketchy connection.

Anyone else have input?

solder the wires

so get a solderin iron
solder
and electrical tape, or some heat shrink tubing (prob the best solution for covering your connection)

Make sure you know what wire is positive and which is negative so you dont wire your speakers out of phase (backwards) cause they wont sound right

So I successfully finished the job- Turns out Best Buy sold the exact connectors I needed, plug in the end of the wire in the door and then stick it right onto the new speaker... Both work quite well. Sorta struggling to hear an incredible differance.

Can I attribute the minimal gains to the fact that these speaks peak at 350 watts and the stock amp only puts out 150 watts (from what i heard)? Or what should i be doing to recieve better performance?

if your looking at the factory amp IDK however you should be putting your focus on RMS ratings
