Kokanee, I'm an insurance agent, when you hit an animal it is filed as a comprehensive claim and it does not count against you. Your insurance rates will not change because of this claim. It is considered to be beyond your control, just like a hail storm is out of your control.
Aren't people wonderful? I had less than 200 miles on my 2020 Pro when someone launched a shopping cart into it, denting the driver door and nearby fender. Deliberately. I was parked WAY away from any other vehicles, nowhere near any shopping carts, when I ducked into a Lowe's. Fortunately the Dent Wizard guy was able to disappear the damage to any but the most scrupulous, discerning autobody eyeballs.
