Some one pinch me! 4.56 gears???

Does my truck really have 4.56 gears? (3RZ - 5 Speed) I always assumed 4.10 because mine didn't come with a locker. This is a pic of my door tag & SS gear ratios.
The tag says 225/75/15 for weight but my T4R came with 265/70/16 from the dealer?
This would save me a lot of money in re-gearing.

Lift the rear tires, spin the wheels and count 20 rotations of the drive shaft and divide by 2. Only definite way to know otherwise I wouldn't trust the code.

I have only seen the A05A code once in a 4runner in a junkyard. Pulled the pumpkin to count the teeth and it was indeed a 4.56 gear ratio.

Pull it to verify but if I were to go on a hunch, then yea, that is what you have.

4cyl 4x4 manuals were the only ones that came with that ratio. I bought my 4.56 front diff from a 4 cyl 4x4 5spd. I had already upgraded to 4.56 in the rear so it was the perfect OEM option (my truck was a 2WD at first, had to convert to 5spd and 4x4. The 2wd auto 4 cyl had 3.91)

I hate to be the one to say this but you have 4.56 gears because Toyota knew that 2.7L equipped 4Runners will need them even for a stock tire size.

1A5=Desert Dune Metallic
FQ45=Tan Fabric, base model/standard interior (NOT the upmodel SR5)
A05A=4.56 Gears
W59=5speed Transmission

Also, all Base, SR5, and SR5 sport came with 15" wheels listed on the sticker. The 16" wheel/265 tire setup was considered a factory option, thusly not listed on the sticker. All Limited's say 265/70/16 on the sticker, because the 16" wheel/tire combo was considered Standard equipment instead of an Option.

I don't know what you mean? You aren't raining on my parade.

3RZ's came with 3.72, 3.9, 4.10 & 4.56's. I assumed I had 4.10's. I ran 275/70R16's for 10 years on my stock 99 talls & had no problem doing 80mph on the hwy.
I'm moving up to 285's (D rated) in a few weeks after I put my lift in & didn't think it would be a problem because other people here are running them on their 3RZ's. But then there's been a lot of gear ratio talk on here lately that was making me worried. If I have 4.56's I should be fine. If I have something lower I will re-gear to 4.88. with lockers.

Yep if you have 265/70r16 tires you have 4.56 gears. Many 4cyl 5spd cam with them. Now if you have an e locker then wow. My TRD Sport Tacoma was 4cyl 5spd 4x4 and had 4.56 gears, it had a lot more get up and go then my V6 auto 4.10 4runner.
