Ok. So, I've been battling this damn P0125 code for a long a$$ time now.

A little history for those that don't know:

When I did my conversion, my harness was hacked all to shat. I spliced and soldered the wires back together, and had no problems.

When I put my prop shaft in, the part of the harness that goes to the ADD crap, which I don't have anymore, got wrapped around the shaft and ripped off.

I replaced the harness with a wiring harness from a 2000 4Runner SR5, but not sure if it was a Cali version or not.

The ECU is still out of a '99 Federal.

For those of you that don't know, the P0125 is a Engine Coolant Temp Sensor, basically the engine isn't entering closed loop, causing the truck to run rich all the time.

Now, here is the bullsh!t part.

This code has NOTHING to do with the ECT sensor. I replaced BOTH the sensors, the one on the back drivers side of the block, and the one on the front passenger side of the block. I have also flushed the radiator, changed out the thermostat, and all that jazz. Still have the code.

The Runner doesn't run hot, not even a little bit. Good power, basically "normal" running, for the most part.

I have traced this code to the Heated 02 sensor, so Bank 1 Sensor 1.

Apparently, if the 02 sensor doesn't heat up, it can throw this code.

Now, what makes me think that the harness came out of a Cali truck is this:

That Sensor is a A/F sensor is from a '99 Cali truck. This is the plug that is on the harness.

This, as a plug from a NON CALI truck:

I replaced the O2 senosr with another, and the P0125 code went away, HOWEVER, a P0171, P0171pd, P0133pd, and a P0130pd showed up. This leads me to believe that the O2 sensor was bad, seeing as these codes weren't there before.

Now, here's my question:

Is sit possible that the Harness is causing this issue?

The truck runs just fine, like I said before, except for this damn CEL.

The way I see it, the sensor is the one that makes the signal for the ECU, so as long as the pins match up, then it shouldn't matter where or what type of connector I have on there. As long as the Sensor and the ECU are both the same thing.

Does this seem right to you guys? Am I completly loosing my mind here.

I'd like to keep some value of the truck, but If I cant get this figured out in the next couple days, I'm going to the DMV and getting the registration turned into a Kit car.

I've about had it with this damn light and not being able to get inspected....
