Hello everyone,
I found this forum while looking up what to do about my problem and none of the other CC threads had the info I needed.
So about 3 days ago I started my '90 and thought I had a hole in the muffler...turns out someone took a saw and went straight through the pipe about 6 inches in front of and behind my CC. There are 6-7 other 4runner in the whole complex but only mine got hit this time. The first shop I quoted said they want $1200 to fix it
but I had some luck. In my apartment building is another 4runner owner (a really nice '94) who has his own shop. He was really upset about what happened (he thinks he is next) so he offered to do the labor if I get the parts.
This is in Colorado, so I can't get a used one from a junk yard. I did find a fair price online on a new one but after 3 days I just can't figure out all of the parts I need. How or where can I get a list of what I need?
-The actual CC (check)
-The two pieces of exhaust pipe that were cut
- The two O2 sensors (the wires were also cut)
-*I have been told by someone who said "I think you need", that I need some kind of single use gasket to connect the pipe and CC. Again I was told this is the hardest of the parts to find and the most expensive, but I have no clue.
I love my car and I need to get it fixed, but as cheap as humanly possible. I graduated college last week, which just means I'm unemployed right now lol.
