Yeah, I guess I was thinking a version of this "style" tire carrier would be cool. So, considering that it wouldn't have to be as beefy as the HUMVEE tire carrier, you might be able to pull off a similar design that didn't weigh as much as an offroad rear bumper by itself.
But I have also thought about what [MENTION=144462]Sean K.[/MENTION] has brought up.
Some sort of winch / pulley system to hoist wheels into place would be cool. While I am sure some of us can dead lift a full size spare around, many can't or don't wish to. My back sometimes allow for powering though tough situations, but once you mess your back up, it becomes much easier to keep messing it up.
I remember seeing [MENTION=118207]midcoma[/MENTION] build his tire carrier solution. I thought that it was a pretty cool and practical way to work smarter and not harder. If you can, by all means post some pictures as your design was unique and pretty cool man.
