My name is Eric. I am excited to share with you my new 2000 4Runner Limited. I was able to purchase this off my co worker. He had mentioned owning a 4Runner and never driving it, due to being a third vehicle. He told me it only had 50k ish original miles on it and could't believe it! I kept bugging him about it and after 3 months finally bought it off him Today I took her home. I think I got a pretty good deal on it to!

I am New to the 4Runner scene, and am happy to share and learn from the forum. I am open to any help and advice given. Boom..

Mileage is 54k orginal miles

4x4 Limited with a E locker

Issues I want to address.

Both front and rear bumper paint is coming off. Unsure what to do at this time? Do I get them repainted? Quoted $1400 Buy chrome bumpers? Or get nice off road steel bumpers ?

Fix small Tear in drivers side seat. About an inch in length.

Antenna is not working. Making terrible grinding noise.

If it were me I'd put nice steel bumper front and rear, lift, tires, all that stuff and then enjoy having a super low mileage 4x4 4Runner with the elocker. That truck has a lot of life left in it and a lot of value too. My truck has 4 times the miles and is amazingly reliable. Or you could get the stock bumpers redone, but it might be wasted money if you decide to build the truck later on.

Looks like you've got a super clean start.

Also, I'd throw those cheap floormats in the garbage and get a set of weathertechs. Off topic, but I've never understood why people stack floor mats...

I think a set of weather-tech is a smart investment. Definitely going to do that.

WOW, that's a find! Beautiful truck with no miles on it, I didn't know any of those existed anymore!

I'd just throw a nice set of aftermarket bumpers on it, something clean looking, and enjoy it.

I'm with everyone above. That thing is just getting broken in and has plenty of miles to go. I think that investing in bumpers will be well worth it, as well as any other mods you do.
Excited to see where this goes and very jealous of your miles

Definitely thinking about aftermarket bumpers now. Possibly 4x innovations?

I really like the looks. Has anyone clear coated the raw steel?

I've got a rear 4xInnovations and I love it. Great company to deal with, the only aftermarket parts company that answers the phone every time you call, delivers parts on time, and answers your questions without sounding condescending.

Addicted offroad has really good stuff too, the customer service is slightly lacking, but I think they've gotten caught back up now and the ship times are reasonable. I would still go with the bumpers I have now, Addicted Offroad in the front and 4X in the rear.

+1 on the color matching.
I've got 4Xinnovations front bumper with no hoops and am a big fan of it. It's color matched to my flares and I couldn't be happier with the overall appearance. If you're not in any rush on rear, they're supposedly coming out with a dual swing out rear that may be interesting to see

My bumper vote would be slightly different:

I would convert to the non-fat lip limited front bumper, valance and grill.
I love modded 'runners, but a clean, stock looking '96-'98 limited is my favorite.
Repair/repaint the rear bumper yourself.

Yes to weathertechs.

Fix the seat tear (there were several places that could redo car seats back when I lived in the north bay)

Replace lower ball joints and radiator.

Drive in style.

Wave to 3rd gen owners.
