This may have already been asked, but I can't seem to find anything specific enough for me. I have a Sony CDX GT510 in my '04 4Runner. I've had the radio for a few years and am just now getting around to installing the PAC SWI-PS. My hope is to regain the use of my steering wheel mounted audio controls.
Is there some sort of idiots guide to doing this? I see the white factory radio connector and I, of course, see my sony aftermarket radio connector. I know, from looking at the PAC site that I'm supposed to "Connect pin 6 wire to ground. Connect pin 7 to the INTERFACE's White wire. Connect one end of a 560 ohm resistor to pin 8, then connect the other end of the resistor to the INTERFACE's white wire..." and "Connect the SWI-PS's red wire to a switched +12volt wire and the black wire to the ground..." but I don't understand what that all means.
What is a switched +12v wire and where can I find one? What is a pin [pin 6, pin 7, pin 8]? What if I only have one 560 ohm resister wire? etc.
Anyone who can help me with this would be greatly appreciated. My dash is in shambles, my patience is non-existent, and my frustration is at an all-time high.
