Sorriest for sale/free forum. What happened to guidelines?

Are there no forum guidelines on tr4? Particularly in for sale section. I mean, when I try to post to buy something or get something in the free section shipped to me, it rarely fails that some sorry F%*&#ING scumbag is going to try to jack me out of it, after I've already posted what I want (not just a "PM sent" like other aholes unless the thread only contains one item for sale).

If there is an admin out there, your forum would gain more respect from being run fairly, than left to be run by greedy F&$%#wads with no respect for anyone.

If no one here has ever heard of forum guidelines (which wouldn't surprise me) then here is an example...

Please follow these guidelines BEFORE posting in the For Sale forum.

1. Price must be included and state if shipping is included.

2. Work with the interested parties to complete the sale in the order that they showed interest in your item. This interest must be shown with a public reply to your thread, Personal Messages (PM's) or emails are not acceptable communication requirements for "getting in line" to purchase an item. We suggest 48 hours as an acceptable time period to allow interested parties to contact you privately.

3. If the first user who responds to your ad does not complete the sale, you move onto the second person who responded, and so on and so forth down the list, until the item is sold. This list is dictated soley by the public replies to your ad.

4 Once item(s)are sold, please change the title of the thread to something like ("sold please delete", or just "delete").

5. Do not post in the For Sales threads unless you are purchasing the item for sale, or you are asking a quetion about it. No "you can get it cheaper at X store". If you want to inform the other person of something like that, please use email.

6. Threads that have NOT been responded to for 2 weeks will be deleted. It will be YOUR responsibility to "bump" the thread if you wish to keep it active. You may bump your own threads NO MORE than once every 7 days, doing so more often will get your thread deleted. This will make moderating this forum much easier, and will keep things tidier.

7. Please put somewhere in the post, the general area where you are located. Please also state if you will only allow pickup, or if you are willing to ship.

8. Do not post EBAY items that you've found and want to share with everyone. Please put those in the Ebay Auction Listings area. Unless it is something YOU are selling or looking for, do not put it in this forum.

9. All communication for a For Sale item should be done on the forum, not in email (except for personal info like mailing address etc). Do not inform prospective buyers to contact you via email, it should be done in the thread so all will have a fair chance at getting an item. Ex, Someone posts in a thread that they want to buy an item, just to find out it's already been sold to someone that contacted them via email without posting in the thread. This will just help to make things a little more fair.

10. Please post your selling/buying experience good or bad in the Feedback forum. Reuse your same post (if you have one already) and edit it with the new name/s of the seller or buyer.

Guidelines really make things work better, but morons are not smart enough to utilize streamlining.

Why not, it's done elsewhere.... Just seems like here, there are a lot of scumbags who would go behind your back and screw you out of a part you need even if you post first.

I agree, but IF, the staff was enforce ALL the rules and enforced them with ALL members, this would be, a great site.

Can't argue with that. Believe it or not, there are plenty of sites that frown on cutthroat tactics in their for sale/wanted sections, and actually enforce their guidelines to all equally. Maybe someone will decide to make this site a great site as well.

I'm complaining that even though I posted first, and even though I had posted someone else who posted after me ended up with it. That pissed me off, and the "person" who did it, didn't mind stabbing me in the back on Easter Sunday to do it. I'm out the parts I should have been receiving. Free or buying makes no difference when some lowlife screws you out of something.

This isn't the first time it's happened to me, and I'm not the only one that it's happened to. I blame a lack of guidelines and enforcement thereof, as much as the backstabbers themselves. The very first for sale thread I ever posted in, some guy jumped down my throat because he misread my post AFTER his, as wanting the part he wanted. He apologized when he realized his mistake, and told me he'd been screwed over a couple of times here.

Is that what this forum is about? People screwing people over, or people helping people?

The person that beat you may have PM'd before posting publicly. I know I always do and have never had any issues buying or selling here. If you find it opposite, as you have said you have, you shouldn't aggravate yourself by going anywhere near the classifieds.

He didn't beat me that way since I received a pm back from the OP stating he would let me know shipping the next day, too bad the OP didn't also post in the thread item was PENDING. The next day was when someone screwed me over.

But... There's another reason for guidelines, to save yet another possible mix up and waste of time.

Since you're so keen on PMing without posting, you should at least be courteous of others and go back and post in the thread that you're asking about said part instead of leaving everyone who reads the thread in the dark about WTFs going on...

If I were in the same boat as the seller, I'd have also given my used rotors/pads to the feller who lived down the road, and was going to pull into my driveway and take them.

If I were SELLING the item? Sure, I'd package them up all nice, be willing to get shipping quotes, etc.

However, that's not the case. This guy is standing to gain NOTHING and is trying to do someone on the forum a favor. Why not make it the easiest on himself? "That selfish." Hush.


Sometimes when I think of real-world problems, I like to revert to when I was a child.
Example:

My neighbor put an ad in the paper that he's giving away a free remote controlled car.
Some kid, 1000 miles away, writes him an e-mail saying he wants it. Here's my address. How much will shipping be once you box it all up and get it in the mail? Lets exchange a few more e-mails and talk about it some more before it comes in the mail.

I walk next door and ask if I can have it. He gives it to me.

The "seller" posted the thread and offered to ship, not pickup only. The deal was made, and he let someone else screw me out of it. Like I said before this is NOT the first time, and I'm NOT the only one that's had problems here. It just happened to be a free item this time dimwit. You might think it's funny, but then I might think you're an idiot. Where I come from when you tell someone you're going to do something you do it. You don't go back on your word because you get lazy, and you don't cut in line.

This is the message he replied with when I posted in his thread AND sent a message, the day before another "person" stabbed me in the back.

"Sure, I'll get a quote for you tomorrow. Just need to weigh and measure the box."

WTF is so hard about that. I ship things. It's not hard at all.

Ok stork, I gave you a warning yesterday about how you were conducting yourself through a pm. You agreed and said you had that warning coming and you would chill out. I also told you that the mods here are working on a number of things to make the forum better. It's a work in progress. Trash talking on members here will not be tolerated. I would expect you to conduct yourself like a grown adult. If you have an issue, take it up with the seller of the item and not publicly bash the forum and talk trash. N

Why would you go off on this when you don't even know where to post? In case you didn't notice this is for feedback on sellers and buyers, not for complaints about guidelines.
