Like many of you I am going to LED my console. I have read many of the threads about it and the sheer amount coupled with my ADD is overwhelming. All I am doing for now is the whole center console from the vents to the storage part. Plan on going with VLEDs or Suberbright LEDs. Any preference on the two brands and a quick list somewhere on which sized I need? Planning to stay with the orange?amber since I always liked that colour. Or how do I tell the size once I take them out. Realy want to get all the right ones the first time...

Thank You! that is pretty much what I was looking for. Leaning towards the Superbright LEDs NEOx HPs. Just mainly want plug and play. I can solder well due to years in the RC car world just can't really go through the effort these days...

HP's won't work on the HVAC screen unless you 12vokt them. There are write ups on how to do that somewhere.

Well I got the ones from warden jp and idk if I did something wrong but when I went to install them they didn't work and then got stuck in my hvac display and i kinda broke them all because the plastic they're made out of is soft as hell. So I'm back to square one.

The plastic from all companies are soft for those bulbs, have used several brands. Just have to be patient and use small tools. As far as not working, you probably needed to just swap polarity. spin the light 180 degrees.

Yeah that's what I was trying to do but they got stuck and I broke them trying to get them out haha. Kinda pissed about it

dude, thanks! i was looking for the non-HP for a while and couldn't find any. got the HPs and have been putting off doing the 12v mod for a while now, so glad i haven't spliced into the harness yet!! looking to go with blue leds, 120 degrees is optimal yes?
I just installed the Warden JP LEDs as well and got the same outcome. I bought 2 sets for the HVAC screen and they just dont work. I obviously tried to swap/flip them to make sure I didnt screw up polarity, but still....neither work.
Guess its time to do the 12v method... :/

For those that read this, use a 9v and test the led's. You may have the end up the part wrapped around the plastic so it makes contact.

I did this mod and used the same 12v LEDs used in all other places for the LCD screen. Instead of doing the "12v mod" others are doing, I just pulled power from the LEDs placed in the "mode" button. These allow the screen to dim as expected and the light is spread pretty even across the screen. I just made sure the LED terminals don't contact the original pads.
Here are some pics. Hopefully I can make a full LED mod post showing the results and a few extra things.

just wanted to post an update for anyone that might have been having issues with LEDs ordered from wardenjp's website for the hvac info background, listed by Sparky on page 1
I ordered a few sets of both the 120 degree and 90 degree leds, I was not able to get any of the standard 120 degree leds to work, however the 90s worked and fit just fine. I dont know why this would be the case, i swapped polarity several times and contacts seem to be no issue, but im going to go back and mess with them some more later, as i had to get to work and was in a rush when i was doing it.
as they are now, they are just a little dim in comparison to my amber radio interface. however i installed blue leds so i wouldn't necessarily attribute this to them being 90s. also, no issue with hotspots

Maybe I got a bad batch but mine wouldn't fit or work no matter how many times I tried. I may have to try again because I'd really love to get rid of the orange
